20/20 Vision
2020 is a new year, a new decade, a new vision – The Town of Powerview-Pine Falls has a 20/20 vision!!!
Some initiatives Council is working on for the year are listed, but not limited to:
- Council is dedicated to work on a Community Plan, a Strategic Plan and a Development Plan; they recognize that Economic Development is the key and will be striving to bring business to the area.
- With the age of our swimming pool, a Feasibility Study shall be done to determine what needs to be done to keep this essential recreational asset viable.
- A major sewer and water replacement project shall be taking place behind Cedar Street in June.
- A Recycling Committee is a new initiative that will be advertised. Council encourages residents to join. It is our hope that we can attract residents from both Wards as well as some youth from the school that are interested in the future of recycling and waste disposal in general. Presently the Town pays to have its trash taken care of – wouldn’t it be incredible to be able to take care of it ourselves and perhaps even make some money doing it?!
- A Town Tour was conducted in 2019 and The Town Tour task list shall be prioritized and tasks will be fulfilled.
- Our Get in the Hoop! project shall commence once the frost is gone and the fundraising efforts will continue as the more we make, the more we can put into the project. The unveiling of the project is slated for Fall 2020.
- Tourism is going to be high on the list of things to do! There is a new advertisement which you will see on the back cover of the Destinations Magazine, as well as in the Visitor’s Guide. The Town is promoting its Walleye Capital status to attract the fishermen, women and children! Council has also given first reading to an Off Road Vehicle By-Law which will allow access through the Town, on a designated route for ATV’s to travel from trail to trail.
